Services

Here at the Literacy Nook, an array of services is offered, in person & virtual, that focus on equipping every child with the tools needed to become confident, proficient readers who learn to enjoy reading.

(And, the best part is, the instruction is lots of fun!)

  • Initial Assessment

Pre-K through 5th grade; administered in person or virtually

Gain a deeper understanding of your child’s literacy needs. Initial Assessments are conducted to help give you a better understanding of where your child’s strengths and areas of growth are in regards to their literacy skills. You will also receive a summary of your child’s results from the assessments completed.

  • DYMOND Assessment (coming soon)

Ages 5-14.5; administered in person or virtually

Dynamic Measures of Narrative Language and Decoding (DYMOND™) is an individually administered norm-referenced dynamic assessment of language and decoding for children ages 5-14.5. The multi purposes of the DYMOND are to accurately identify signs of language disorder, accurately identify signs of dyslexia, and accurately identify strengths, weaknesses, and instructional targets.

  • One-on-One Instruction

Pre-k through 5th grade; In person & virtual sessions

Prescriptive, structured and explicit instruction is provided through multisensory techniques for all Pre-K through 5 learners. Instruction is tailored to individual children based off of initial assessment results and is movement and play-based.

  • Group Instruction

K through 5th grade; Available for local families

Students are matched based on reading abilities and difficulties to provide small group instruction.

Boost Camps are another great group option (visit the Boost Camps page for more info)!

  • Parent Consultations
